Poutine!!

Its in the middle of the night and I'm craving a poutine!!!
What can I say? It's a Canadian thing. Insha Allah I'll make me some tomorrow because it is too late now. Gotta sleep.

ps. for all of you who don't know poutine is actually fries with gravy and some cheese curds (yummy yumm)

serial bird killer aka FiFi

So there is this really cute cat that actually belongs to our neighbour and what can I say he totally loves us ( its a male :P). He comes over our house all the time and we feed him and stuff at the beginning we used to give him regular food like pasta, chicken etc and it also loved drinking vanilla milkshake but would not drink regular milk for some reason but unfortunately that used to cause him to have diarrhea so we got home friskies (actual cat food that he loves).
He is so friendly and adorable and he purrs and stuff and when he first enters our house he says hi to each one of us by saying meow and rubbing his head on our legs lol.
Ok to the point, you see he seems so harmless but then he has this other side to him where he goes hunting for birds and he actually killed a couple of them and we found them in our backyard, and once my mom found a bird that was still alive but was bleeding from several parts and she had to bring it in our house and bandage it and spray the wounds and bla bla bla it was so sad.
Oh yeah and FiFi also loves chasing squirrels but fortunately he is too slow to catch one (haha) but he never gives up, he's always trying.
All in all I think its in his nature do such things but for some reason when he comes over and looks at me in the eye I forgive him for all the things he does, I cant help it he is just so Cuuuuuuute!!

Backbiting

The Prophet (pbuh) defined backbiting when he said: "Do you know what is meant by backbiting ?" They said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "To say something about your brother which he dislikes." One asked, "Even if what I say is true about my brother?" He replied, "If such defects you say are true about him, then you have backbitten him, and if he doesn't have what you say, then you have committed slander against him." (Related by Muslim, Abu Dawood, and Tirmidhi)

Burn!!!

Eid Mubarak!!!!

I bet y'all know about the hype that has been going on in America about Burn Quran Day and bla bla bla. Some people just love to bother us muslims and they keep on pushing our buttons.

So on the night of Eid there was a fire infront of a local mosque, the people at the mosque panicked thinking that there was some sort of attack or an incident of the Quran being burnt.
But Al-Hamidillilah there were no injuries and nobody was hurt and it turned out to be some haters trying to instill fear into the muslim community by burning some newspaper (atleast they didnt get some Qurans)

So yeah thats all :) & My Eid was so boring..starting school tomorrow :'-(

Salaaaaaams for now :)

Summer Job 2010

Summer Job 2010

Ok, right after I finished school on April I knew i was going to have a long summer so I started looking for a job. So i finally got a job at a telemarketing place and it did pay good but it was horrible..uff..i hated the fact that I had to call people and beg them to donate money for various causes and stuff and I felt like i was cheating them because I was pretty sure by the looks of it the corporation that I worked for were actually taking the money for themselves and only giving small amounts to the charity cases.

The people who worked there were all older people that I couldnt befriend and stuff and they seemed really uneducated. And plus I hated the men who worked there, they smelt of booze and were keep on hitting on me and all the women who worked there and one of the men was telling one woman how he liked her boobs and this other guy was asking this married woman who worked there how her sex life is with her husband!! Astaghfurullah I cant believe he would ask such a question in such a public place and everyone just laughs, it was horrible.

So after 4 days of working there, me and two other muslim girls decided to quit! The place was just unbearable and that day it was even worse since it was a friday and everyone was preparing for the long weekend they decided to open some rap music and reggae and stuff and everyone starts singing and dancing.

I always say Alhamdillilah that i quit everytime i remember this experience.

Eventually after another round of job hunting my father finally got me a job at a local mosque to work as a summer camp councillor for young girls ages 8-18 but the majority of the kids who actually came were preteens. I really loved that job it was great and the girls were awesome Masha Allah they brought out my inner childhood. I had a fantabolous time with them, basically I had to teach them about basic stuff about the country’s law and what is right and what is wrong and tutor them in school work and multiple other stuff. The best part was when we played games, we played games such as red rover, pizza, tag, octopus, ladders, charades, martian/people of mars and etc. I’ve missed playing those games and it was great playing them. We also went on trips to the park, movies and restaurant also had pizza parties.

The downside of the job was that we had alot of drama as it is usual to happen when you have a group of 20 girls or more. Almost everyday we had at least an average of 3 fights and there is always a lot of shouting, yelling and in the end lots of crying and hurt feelings. And of course me being the only teacher there had to calm things up and make sure everyone is fine. But Alhamdillilah, I eventually got some volunteers to help me out with the kids and things started to look bright again.

Now that im done working there I really miss my little girls very much, the last day we wanted to have a big party but it was impossible since it was ramadan and everyone was fasting which meant we couldnt have food so it kinda sucked. But then we decided to have a card for everybody that everybody would sign and write nice stuff about each other, that came pretty hard to do because some girls had grudges against each other and stuff. I also gave the girls goodie bags with jewellery hopefully they liked it.

The girls were so sweet and they also gave me a gift, it was really thoughtful of them.

I really miss them and hope to see them really soon :(.
